My opinion is that Efren Reyes owns this title. He has proven to be one of the best 9-ball players over the last few decades. His 8-ball skills are possibly slightly better yet. 1-pocket is pretty much dominated by him. He also plays carom games at a very high level, and I'm sure if he wanted to there would be very few games he wouln't dominate. He wins nearly every new tournament that comes out, the bigger the prize money gets the more you can bet he will win. He is also liked by most everyone, and is a class act.To top it off he is still doing this, despite already being in his early 50's. I can't imagine anyone having a very strong arguement against him being the greatest.

This is probably the most commonly asked question in this category, so I'll try to be kind. The most common answers that people tend to give are Efren Reyes and Willie Mosconi. And you know what...they're both right. People have a mountain of evidence to support each player as the best ever. What I'd like to know from people is why would they pick Minnesota Fats as the greatest of all time? If it's a matter of notoriety or personality, then he'd be a fine choice. In fact, if he's the only player whose name they can remember, that's fine too. I'd just like to know what they're thinking. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

P.S. Mosconi

Hands down to Efren "Bata" Reyes! He can play any pool game there is, may it be 8ball, 9ball, rotation, poker, carom, etc. He's the greatest pool player who ever lived!!

Think about it, he's the current IPT King of the Hill, IPT 9ball pair champion (with django bustamante...another legend) and recently he won the IPT 8ball world championships that fielded 200 players all across the globe and had the biggest pool prize in the history of pool.

And he's just warming up hehe

Efren Reyes. Greatest of all time. Most entertaining to watch.Great shotmaker. Most innovative. Most beloved player. No one plays better when it involves big tournaments. He stills plays at the highest level even though he's 52 years of age.

I think Effrin Reyes is the best , but I saw Earl strickland run 11 straight Racks in nine ball and that was a real impressive feet , but the best ''all around'' player is Effrin Reyes
