what you do today will effect your future? Such as the people you hang with, the choices you make about; music, sex, drugs, religion, ect.
I know it sounds cliche', but if you're making bad choices now,(and you know what they are) I gaurantee that if you have any kind of intelligence, pride, or dignity, someday you'll wished you would have done things differently. I never thought I'd be saying any of this, but it's true, and I promise you, you'll be worried about your own kids someday.
Please understand that I'm not bashing anyone. I just want you to think about it.

EOWYN- You're right, I'm sorry you don't have adequate leadership. You could make a difference in your generation.

does it occur to you that every generation must go through it's own...whatever you want to call it.....I'm 34 and I for one want my kids to make mistakes...big ones if they need to....we all need to learn and just because someone says something isn't what one should be doing....everyone needs to find out about life for themselves.....there are things that we each need to learn...granted taking the easy road may seem the way to go...but you learn so much more the hard way.....I wouldn't have traded this difficult road that I have had for anything

Ya know...its just the same cycle each generation goes through. As humans we are getting smarter at the same time ignorant. I learned alot at 18 just by watching others. Half the time its interesting and the other half im laughing. Each generation has its ups and downs. We all have said something that would shock the adults as a child, grew up out of it thinking we were gettin smarter and trying to improve something to help us more which in the long run someone else would come up with something to ruin it for us all.... Go figure, eh?

I am not as concerned with the choices that our kids make, rather the environment that they are making them in. School violence and violence in general. Where we were getting into fist fights, they are shooting each other. You'll always have the sex and drugs as a teen to face. That's part of life and there will always be those who choose to throw their lives away. Some things won't change and at that age - you can't tell them anything anyway!

I'm certain this has been going on for numbers of generations. the older generation was probably always worrying about the state of affairs with the younger generation. remember my grandparents and parents thought about my generation and yes I wonder about the younger generation as well. and no doubt some of your generation will continue the tradition as well. yet somehow we always seem to survive so don't worry about it just do the best you can as we all have.

Of course, the average young person isn't going to realize that. It may be understood intellectually, but knowing isn't KNOWING, y'know? That's why parents are charged with guiding their kids. With luck, our kids'll think about what they see going on around them, consider that others' advice was sound, and conduct themselves in a manner which will see them into adulthood relatively unscathed. I remember hearing the proverb, "youth is wasted on the young". Ouch, that hurts, don't it? Another one, "we grow too soon old and too late smart". Ouch again.

I'm a young person, and I see my friends making bad choices all the time that will effect their future.

Don't get me wrong; I'm all for having fun, but you also need to be responsible for your actions and realize the consequences in can have on the rest of your life.

You can have fun without ruining your life.

As i'm from the 'younger generation', u would be surprised of how aware young ppl are becoming. sure there are the few idiots who want to be 'cool', but in my opinion, many teens and even younger are becoming more pro-active in their lives! Dont worry, there's still hope for us...the X-generation!

It seems the younger generation is caught up. They are blinded by things that are not to be taken too seriously. Movies and music.

no, the young do NOT realize this, mainly because we dont like to be lectured... we have an extremely small number of good leaders whom we'd like to follow, so we instinctively follow he wrong ones... in other words-the previous "older" generation is mainly responsible for our state right now.

Do you old folk know we are able to shut you up by stuffing you into retirement homes? Do you know that your waste of tax dollars called Social Security is costing us money? Do you know that you are inadvertently responsible for any of our faliures? I just want you to think about it.
