Guess they need to know which way they're gonna' judge, huh?
I like to say, "I'm only in the study group at this time, the Daughters of Satan", because I love the sound of wind as they gasp, sucking all the air outta' the room.

It's all about recruiting. They want to look down upon you if you name a different church or none at all. Being as closed minded as they are, they feel their God is better than yours, If you have one. There ary many very good people who don't go to church and many bad people who do go. Just treat people the way you would want to be treated. That is you living reward.

They get pushy because they view their way of life as the only valid choice. That you've made a different choice and are clearly not destroyed by it leaves them with two choices. A) your life must suck and you're hiding it, and they have the job to save you, or B) their choice isn't the only valid one.
Guess which view they normally go with...

not always. there are many times when conservations take place and not one word about religion is mentioned. of course being the opposite gender if two guys are talking the subjects are generally much different than what the ladies talk about.

I guess the same way you strike a conversation with a student at the mall or bus stop and they ask you what school you go to. Or if you're a teacher and at a teacher's convention and they ask you what school you teach at.

Asking folks about church is a good conversation starter. If you don't go to church, it's always polite to invite you to church.
I hope you don't consider an invitation as pushy.

I am a true Christian and I do not go to church The churches keep changing to keep up with the times. My belief is steadfast.
I metaphorically speaking I go to my closet to pray.

Does sleeping in a garage make you a car? So going to church does not make you a Christian. I go to church because I want to serve the Lord and be obedient - but that did not make me a Christian.

Religion is just a part of a christians life. It is sort of like asking are you enjoying the weather, it is always on our minds. Also a christian is always concerned about another person. That is just natural also.

Why all the condescension?
I'm a Christian, and I don't do that. I also don't lump billions of people into one group and assume they all act the same way either...
I'm sick to death of hearing people say, "why do Christians do this...?" "Why do Christians do that...?"
How about I agree not to judge you, and you stop hypocritically judging me... While complaining that Christians are judgmental...
