There is absolutly no reason why you can't. It is a religious item, and a personal journal. The only thing they can make you do is put it away during class, or put a bookcover on it. If they allow other students to bring their bibles with a cover, you can bring your book of shadows, too. And if they try to make a big deal about it contact the ACLU and they can point you to a good lawyer. At the end of the day schools dont want to play hardball, especially about a religious issue, beacuse it makes them look intolorent ,so just haveing a pagan friendly lawyer's card will stop them dead in their tracks. Good luck and dont let them stop you from liveing your religion everyday!

You could, but I wouldn't. Someone could end up reading it or leaving negative vibrations on it. Your BOS is a very personnal thing and should be just for you. I don't really see why you would want to bring it to school other than for shock value, but I don't know if this is the case.

If you want to write in your BOS at school then I would reccomend writing what you want to write on a peice of paper and then transfering it to your book when you get home.

If you are wanting to share info with a classmate then copy the passage you want out of the book and give it to them, so you don't have to bring the book to school.

Hope this helps!

I don't understand why you would want to. A Book of Shadows is a very personal thing. You have much more important things to work on at school. I suggest you leave it at home and work on it there.
You may want to read through my blogs on my 360* page. If you are bringing it to school for shock value or because you have rights, you are definitely not keeping within the spirit of tolerance. We should show others as much tolerance as we ourselves expect to be shown.
If you want to make a statement for your religion, make a positive one.

There's nothing prohibiting you from bringing it except the potential bigotry and hatred of your fellow students and teachers.

All holy books are allowed within school walls, they just cannot be used in classrooms to force students into public prayer or other religious activities.

If it is taken from you by a teacher, I highly recommend writing a letter to your principle asking why your religious freedom is being taken away, and why bibles and crosses haven't been confiscated yet.

that would be a violation of church and state, but considering how private and personal a BOS is, anyone who was brave enough to bring one to school would be doing their best to make sure nobody found out about it
