In Amarillo Texas, they are called Lady Bugs. Actually, I can't see anything "bird" about them. Lady Bird Johnson, is the only Lady Bird that I've ever known of.

I say Lady Vampire!!!!!! Ok not really I actually say lady bug, but one landed on my leg (which I had happen 1,000 times before) and my husband said "Watch out those things bite!" Well that was the silliest thing I ever heard so I said "No they d... OUCH!!!" You know the darn thing bit my leg before I could finish my sentence!!!!! I guess you learn something new every day.
By the way, it only feels like getting pinched. It doesn't last like an ant bite does.
Crazy huh?!?!?

I vote for woman chook !! bugs strike a cord in me of terrible bugs, think of of stink bugs, or mattress bugs, bugs in the appliance, and a woman trojan horse must be the Queen of bugs. Birds are so present day and so is a woman chook.
