Neither of my sister-in-laws started their periods until they were 16 and they both turned out just fine and have multiple children each. It might help to ask your mom when she started her period. I'm not positive but genetics might play a roll in that kind of thing. You will start your period when your body is good and ready and not a second before. So no worries, I'm sure you're just fine. Besides, having a period that young is a little overrated. It's not only annoying, but it can bring on a whole new set of problems.

Check with your doctor, but while women are starting to menstrate at a younger age now than 100 years ago, some still wait 'til 14. You ought to count your blessings. Periods are a real bother.

Why are you in a hurry to get it? It's no fun, and if it makes you feel "grown up" or whatever, just think that some kids think that smoking makes them feel grown up. It's the same thing. You're prefectly normal. If you do not get it by 16, go to your doctor, but until then, be glad you don't have to suffer through it.

It can happen at anytime. Just because maybe your friend started hers at 13, doesn't mean yours will.

If they haven't started by the age of 16, you should then go to see your doctor.

You maybe wishing then on you now at 13, but believe me, by the time you are 17, you'll wish they never started.

You don't want to grow up too quick.

Good luck :-)

Not at all! I didnt get my period until I was almost 17 years old. Talkt o your mum, odds are she started late also. Don;t be conerned and once you do get your period, you will be thankful for the extra time you had in which you didnt have to worry about it. You are completely normal!!

it's ok, some girls start later, the age is from 9 to 14, so if you're worried go see a doctor, but it's most likely to be ok
