I don't know what his budget is. If after paying his bills he has only a few hundred dollars then 50 is too much.
How much did you or him save that month? Is he saving for something big like a ring or car or house etc...?
Is there any reason why you can't buy it for yourself? Don't wait around for a man to buy you the things you want.

depends on a lot of variables...Are you guys saving for something? has he made sacrafices and you are not willing to try? is he trying to get you in the habit of a budget? Is it something that you really need? if you need shoes and he said no, that sucks. but if you are saving for a trip and you jus want to buy a box set of your favorite band, I understand. some where inbetween, i imagine, is your answer

despending on his finances, if he could afford it then i would be upset, if he can not afford it i would understand..
