It may be the beginning of a condition known as sleep paralysis or something similar http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Sleep+paralysis I suffered from it on and off for about 2 years during uni. Its actually quite frightening but the best thing to do is to try not to stress during the day cos it usually brings it on. Are you a young individual who is active and busy? My condition started exactly how you are describing, I would be lying in bed looking at my wall, everything in place and normal with the sun shining through the window. When I put my hand in front of my face I couldn't see it even waving it frantically! Which is when i woke up and realised i was asleep. What was also wierd was that i think i must have stopped breathing because i would gasp in huge amounts of air when i woke up. It did get worse though with the feeling of someone sitting on me and pushing me into my bed...but il spare you the details. Hope you dont have it cos it really is horrible. Just ask me if you would like to know more cos i could go on! Good luck.

Did you happen to drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when you got home, your Dad and your mother would kill you and dance about on your grave singing Hallelujah?
