You might need to be creative on this one. Do you spend a lot of time at the keyboard? It might be why your cat is so interested in it. Cats like children get very interested in thing that consume most of our time away from them. Spend a bit more time with your cat take a break from downloading and play with your cat and show it some attention. If this doesn't work and you have a wireless keyboard i suggest trying to place the keyboard where your cat can't get to it when you download.
Your cat likes you and wants to be like and near you so he/she is imitating you. Sorry but it's simple love!

I have this same problem. Make sure the cat knows that the keyboard isn't an acceptable place to play. I set up a little bed area on my desk, and everytime they try to walk on the keyboard, I pick them up and either set them on the floor, or put them back on the bed. Eventually, they got it.
Cats are smart, they'll learn by rote, so just keep doing the same thing over and over and she'll learn that that's not a place to play.

Keep a spray water bottle close by and when the cat gets close spray. The cat will learn, but don't know about when you are away. Maybe close the doors so the cat does not have access to the room.

I have the same problem. The only for sure method that works is to stop using the keyboard and devote your life to the attention of your cat. Other than that, get used to it.

When you're not using it, put the keyboard away somewhere. Just placing it on its side will keep her from walking on it. If she's getting on it while you're using it, push her down & don't allow her to get on your desk. I have always used double-sided tape to keep cats off desks, counters, tables, etc. They hate things sticking to their paws.

You can get a keyboard cover (buy one) or you can have a keyboard that you can put under your table (built that way) when your finish using it. That's what we have.
