normal is overrated... its vanilla... its boring, at least IMHO... I view my mental mechanics as a blessing because I see life through a different "pain"... folks who have never had to struggle take things... often important things... for granted... those of us who have to struggle to get through the day think of success differently - in a purer, more wholesome way, IMHO... I have struggled to "fit in" all my life... when I was not successful with that, I sought to be invisible... now that I have mastered myself and my quirks (for the most part) I find myself stronger than most of the "normal" people around me who can't be flexible with the wind so they break and don't have the smarts to duck when the excrement hits the old oscillating unit... these days, if I weren't me, I'd want to be my best friend :) work with your strengths, figure out what keeps your interest and work to stay busy... finds words to guide you, to live by... one of my favorites is "you are the destination of your beautiful road"

Well, I don't think that anybody is "normal" - most people have something - or at least symptoms of something. And just because you may be "normal", it doesn't mean that you'll be happy.

I do - but I don't. I do, because I want to see what its like not being like this. But then, I've been like this from a very, very early age - and it's a part of me. As Stephen Fry said - "If I could wave a magic wand and take it all away, would I? Not for all the tea in China."

I don't know if jealous is the right word, but I certainly wish people in general weren't so ignorant about it. Like when any celebrity has problems, people write to the papers saying how can they be depressed with all that money. If only it were that easy! Everyone has their own special characteristics that make them individual, and I would say you are perfectly normal, just like me. I just happen to have had chronic depression for 20 years and I've learned to live with it. Lots of people who don't have mental illness aren't necessarily normal,or nice, so don't be jealous of them. I'm not! Love n hugs x

there is no such thing as normal - In behavior, normal refers to a lack of significant deviation from the average. If you want to be average and boring - go ahead! And you either have good or bad mental health or a mental illness! And you really do need to learn to spell!

Nahhh - 'cause everyone on earth has a mental illness in one form or another! Think about it: every single person has a quirk that can be construed as out of the ordinary.

Having got a mental health illness I`d say YES I am jealous of people who don't have the same illness as me. Having a mental illness can be very debilitating .

No - We all have our own issues. If not mental health then there will be something else. Be happy to be you and just work with what you have got.

Yes, and no. I like having depth of personality, but I dislike having to experience the depths of experience to get it.
