Dogs and cats get tapeworms from ingesting a flea that is infected. The flea is actually the host carrier. Cats tend to get them more because they are such good groomers. Its not a big deal but you will need to know how much the dog weighs to get the right amount of pills. The pills will treat for the tapeworms they have but they can be re-infested within a month, or as soon as they eat another infested flea.

If these "seeds" look like grains of rice, then your dog might have tape worms. Take a fresh stool sample to your vet and tell them what you've seen. They'll prescribe something that will get rid of the tapeworms. You'll probably have to give it now then again in 30 days. Then, take another sample to the vet and they'll make sure it's clear.

Blech- your dog could have tapeworms or nasty ticks.
Take your dog to the vet immediatly- tapeworms can kill a dog by living inside their intestines and "eating their food for them", while ticks can spread diseases to your dog by ingesting its blood. Good Luck!
