I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

We believe that God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate and distinct beings with one purpose.

I believe that it is possible for God to have a wife. This seems logical as he has given us commandments and guidelines to help us prepare to be like him, one of them being to marry, multiply and replenish the earth. However, this is not official church doctrine.

Yes, we believe in a premortal existence. In Genesis for example, God says let us make man in our image. We believe that Christ played a role in the creative process.

There is no official church doctrine explaining how Jesus was begat. This is probably due to the sacred nature of this experience. I do know that God does not violate his own laws or the laws of nature, if that helps.

You can contact me if you have any additional questions. I joined the church during my senior year in high school. It was the best decision of my life. I am so grateful to my Savior as he has truly saved my life.

I joined the Church when I was 32 yrs. old. I had only attended a Southern Baptist church when I was younger. When the missionaries came and explained the Church to me in their discussions, the things they told me felt right, and they were many things I already believed in my heart. When they told me of the Book of Mormon and how it was translated by Joseph Smith, I was a little skeptical, but now I love this other testament of Christ, and it helps support and clarify the Holy Bible. Many people do not believe that the members are Christian, but we believe in God, in his son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. And we believe in Jesus Christ's atonement for all mankind.
There is so much to learn in the Church, I feel like am still learning! The best thing I think would be to contact the missionaries. They would be thrilled to come and answer your questions and explain the principles of the Gospel. They are awesome young men who have prepared themselves for most of their life to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people. The best way would be to go to the link below.

I am not a Mormon and never have been one.
Jesus is not God the Father. That is the Sabellian heresy found in other cults. The Historical Christian church and the Mormon church never taught that heresy.
If you want more informaiton about what I am talking about, get in touch with Berean Christian Ministries - John and Phyllis Farkas can answer any questions you have a bout such things. So too can Lorrie McGregor at McGregor Ministries in British Columbia.

God, Jesus and the holy Ghost are three separate beings. The holy ghost doesn't have a body, God and Jesus have perfect immortal bodies.

Mormons believe that Jesus was in heaven before he came to earth. We don't know specifics about how he was begat as it probably is very sacred.

No, Jesus isn't God the Father. They are one in purpose, but are not the same individual.

mormons.org is a very valuable reference.

The Mormons have a very odd religion. They believe in the Bible, but they also in the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. They say that God gave a law of health to Joseph Smith in 1833. This law is known as the Word of Wisdom, and believe that in addition to emphasizing the benefits of proper eating and physical and spiritual health, God has spoken against the use of:
Tobacco.
Alcohol.
Coffee and tea.
(I have never heard of any reason why God wouldnt want allow you to drink tea etc)
They believe that under the direction of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ created the earth.
Mormons are the people who sometimes knock on your door trying to spread their religion, riding bikes.
Another odd thinking of the Mormons is that supposedly before you were born, you lived as a spirit with God and then came down to
Earth to learn to be more like God.
I'd suggest that you should start reading the Bible more closely.

I am a Mormon. We believe the same things that you mentioned. Jesus was born of a mortal mother and an immortal Father. His mother is the virgin Mary and his Father is God. If you need to know where the nearest church to you is you can find out here: http://www.mormon.org/question/worship/1,8578,797-1,00.html. You could ask somebody there to help you find the missionaries and they could teach you what we believe and answer your questions.

seriously....The Utah Mormon view of God as being a mormon on a planet far away long ago who he and his wife somehow achieved Godhood ?... it would be an understatement to say it is quite foreign to the Bible and contradicted by Isaiah speaking for God "I am God and there is no other." Since Joseph Smith was searching for buried treasure using a divining rod, a forbidden occultic practice by Moses, it is wise to have a healthy skepticalness about what a spirit posing as an angel might claim to someone engaged in an occultic practice like Joseph Smith using a diving rodi .. see the book of Galations on angels coming down from heaven preaching a different gospel

Jesus Himself said in John 2 "tear down this temple and in three days I will raise it again"

Jesus is man, unfallen man enough to die
Jesus is divine enough to be raise himself from the dead

Jesus is not the Father... how could he pray to the Father
that is a view called the sybellian trinity where God wears three hats and not accepted by orthodox Christians

God however can exist as three persons who are one in divine essense. Three in one way, one in another and this is the athanasian trinity and the belief consistent with the apostles creed and the nicean cread as well as othodox christian views

Jesus was divine and with regard to his personhood esisted eternally generated from the ffather from all time, he took on an additional human nature to atone for the sins of the world and purchase the redemed

The focus on marriage is clse but in the wrong place.
Just as ther eis one marriage in the garden of eden, there will be one marriage in heaven, but as Jesus said not sexual.. a glipse of soemthing more

One thing is clear, marriage is important to God.. the world was very good when one couple was placed in the world... just as
the wife of Adam was born from Adams wounded side, the church is born from thewounded side of Jesus at the cross and
the wife of Jesus... is The Bride of Christ ,... the redeemed
marriage today is a mere glipse of the relatiship the redeemed will have with God as we get to know him and enjoy HIm forever knowing HIm better and better

and one is redeemed when one glorifies God leaning on the work of Jesus on the cross beleiving for eternal life
