I have a 9-year-old male. When he was 5, I took in a stray pregnant female. He hated her while she was pregnant & later tending to her kitties. After the kitties went to good homes, the male and female became friends. Then, 2 years ago, I got the female's granddaughter. The two adults hated her at first. I kept her in another area of the house, only allowing them to all be together while I was there. Eventually, everyone got used to each other. They are all great friends now & will play and groom each other. I think that the male thinks of the two female as his own personal harrem. ;-) They are all fixed, btw!

I wouldn't bring a full grown cat into another full grown cat's territory unless your cat is a definitally laid back, especially with males. They'll claw up everything, spray and fight. If you have two kittens, like I do, it's best to introduce them as soon as possible, or even adopt littermates. Living with another cat, especially if they will be alone a lot, allows cats the benefit of someone to play with, and they also teach each other kitty mannerisms and how to be a cat.

Very. You have to give them time to adjust because if they're not brought in at the same time they'll be territiorial. I had brought girl and a boy cat in at house and now they have KITTENS!

its better to raise the cats together so there will be no fighting. its also good to have one male and one female together if they are already grown. two male cats will fight over the territory.

Totally possible. Once they're used to each other, they become buddies.
