For the wikipedia explanation of pierogi, check here:

Basically, its a European version of filled pasta (some other versions are Italian ravioli, Jewish Kreplach, Chinese Wonton, Japanese Gyoza). The ones that I mostly see are filled with cheese but my favourite is filled with potato and bacon. I just buy them frozen and boil them.

Peirogie is fresh ravioli or circular shaped pasta stuffed with meat or cheese.
Directions: deep fry is the best option. When the peirogies float in the grease they're. Eat
plain or dip in your favorite sauce. Great appetizer.

they are like raviloli, but not filled with meat. I would boil them and add spagetti sauce and cheese.
