Bcoz very often people forget their one 'n only religion ... that's "HUMANITY". But for ur kind information, we don't let the religion ruin our world. People who r religion-fanatics channelize the religion to flow in a different way. We r none but the general mass who always face the effect of so-called ruins. All these parties & militants have adopted the tactic of using religion to exacerbate people towards whatever they r doing right or wrong.

Now u must agree that, all religions r not the same. The concept of 'Jihad' in Islam which literally means holy war doesn't seem so actually. Quran & Hadith have mentions about it, 'Jihad' calls on muslims to combat the enemies of their religion. Combat can be done by heart, by tongue, by hand or by sword. Believers contend that those who die in combat become martyrs and are guaranteed a place in paradise. So if u take up the instance of 11/9 attacks on World Trade Center by Al-Qaeda militants, which led to deaths of over 3000 people ... it's justified according to 'Jihad' point of view. The concept of 'Jihad' is now used as an ideological weapon in effort to combat Western influences and secular governments 'n to establish an ideal Islamic society.

Anyways, I want to conclude with a positive view.
U know what? The Bible says end-time wars 'n events leading up to Jesus Christ’s return. It also reveals that this years-old conflict about 'religion' will come to a peaceful solution in the not-too-distant future(after World War III). But before this resolution is reached ... much blood will be shed, 'n mankind will go through a time of suffering on an extreme-scale previously unknown in human history. I think we r now going through that extreme stage, so return of Christ is not too far ...

Now one final word, I'm a Hindu by birth. But I do believe in secularism.

I'm always mused at this question. What makes you think that the world will be a better place without religion? I'm not particularly religious and have serious doubts about man's goodness. But even I can see that both the World Wars weren't started because of religion. They were started by greed and even if there is no religion, there will still be greed or fear or oil or money to spur on warmongers.
Paedophiles become so because of their evil nature, not because of their religion.
I see no evidence in this world that the lack of religion makes the world a better place. Look at Communism. In what way is that superior to our Western world, with all its mistakes and hangups? The bottom line is that God doesn't need our help if he is as powerful as he says he is. It is man's nature to dominate the weaker that leads to the evils in this world.

I can't believe some of the idiotic responses that you have had to this question. I don't what world these people are living in, but its not the same as the rest of us.
Of course religion is ruining our world and it always has. Its not just one, its all of them.
Catholics - covering up child abuse by its own priests, stealing money from the poor, the vatican full of stolen artefacts while the world starves, the pope (an ex-nazi youth)
Muslims - trying to take over the countries that are helping them, suicide bombers, spreading hatred, getting aggressive at anyone who questions their absolutely criminal religion

There are loads that these religions have done in the past, present and (no doubt) future. I don't see that they have done anything positive for the world. The day that religion is outlawed, the better

A message for Romi4Jesus ; Christians are just as bad. A society based on myths, spouting hypocritical rubbish!

seem at it this kind: All major religions have had a minimum of 1400 years to convey on the brotherhood of guy or a minimum of international peace, that are reported aims of those religions. How is that going? that's no longer. Are there non secular wars? definite. Do human beings understand others a lot less and set themselves except for others because their faith teaches them they have the "one and in elementary words authentic" faith? definite. base line: No faith is operating for a extra perfect humanity. each and every individual is operating for his or her own betterment or has their heads someplace in the clouds fairly than right here on earth the position it concerns.

iv asked two questions.both where about why threes always someone answering a question and putting god in the middle of it. its unfortunate. that people can't think for themselves. that's the problem. religion has killed more people in the worlds history than anything Else.they follow along blindly and think that a higher power is behind them.god don't kill. people do. god crate's.well never learn. god is love. not death.until we learn to except each outher as individuals.with will and minds of our own. well keep killing and using god and religion as en excuse for humanities dislike for each others beliefs and differences.

It's the extremists from a certain religion who have done this.
The rest of the world is busy with trying to earn an honest living.

religion today is still better than the Mayan sacrifice of men, women & children. It's still doesn't include the sort of torture that was part of the Inquisition. It does not include the sort of slaughter in the thousands/tens of thousands that was part of the Crusades.

What's different today - communicaiton. Now we can find out about news from around the work in minutes, instead of decades.

True religion is defined by Christ as ministering to the orphans and widows in distress. Is that ruining our world?
