Vista like other OS before it will be hacked
X360 has and that was supposed to be unhackalbe
DRM will be hacked, this I firmly believe. WGA has been hacked. No matter what they do some 13 year old wunderkind will reverse engineer all that code and find the loophole. Vista allready has major secirity flaws allready in beta testing that everyone knows about and few believe by deployment time will be fully fixed, so like XP you see a series of patches to address the security flaws. The other thing with Vista is not all DRM measure are going to be implemented at first, due to fear of consumer backlash id al lthe DRM measures are implemented with variuos media that will not play under DRM.

The anti-piracy measure won't cost M$ any "customers" becuase those people who would've pirated it won't have been paying, and so technically not customer - just theives.

As for the computer spec thing, I beleive most of the units of vista shipped will be the pre-installed with a new PC kind. The market for upgrading existing machines to vista is much smaller and will certainly be limited by the basic specification to run it.

I'll certainly not buy vista alone, but by the time it comes for me to get a new PC it'll probably be pre-installed so I'll wait till then.

It won't "lose" customers, but they will be hesitant to upgrade their computers just because it's required by Vista. If anything, it may slow the widespread adoption of the OS.

As for the anti-piracy, it will cause me to think twice about getting the OS, due to all of the DRM and Microsoft's own anti-piracy schemes embedded in the OS.. I'll probably only upgrade if I have to.

As form me "NO" I haven't bought a piece of MS crap in years. I either get a BETA from them ( I'm a Microsft Beta Tester ain't that a joke?) or just crack another copy. I do imagine the over 160,000 people so far with legit systems that have been flagged by WGA might not want VISTA
