God is suposedly the creator of all things, has no beginning or end, he's all-knowing, always forgives, has never ending love, bla bla bla. However, I don't think that's entirly true. To me god is just a figure of what ever "higher being" creating the universe and everything in it. Many stories are written about god but i think most of them are just stories that have grown taller each time told until it was eventually written in the bible. I don' t know if this has helped or not and if you'd like i'd be glad to put more.

I can define God in my own words-based on my own thoughts.
God is the mysterious source of human divinity.
God is each persons connection to the divinity of all living beings.
Every living thing recognizes God, at some level.

There are many definitions.You are right,god is an idea,but the idea is based on a reality.Since we are forming our life and self you can say that we are gods in the making.god can also mean the sum total of everything,you can say that this "everything" has an identity of it's own and knows itself as itself.Yet god is also more than the sum of it's parts. I do know that words fall short and god must be experienced,it points to an identity so vast and dazzling (like us) that no words nor images can quite capture it.
