Back in the old days when Witch craft ran rampent, and the early settlers were very superstitious. Every old woman, and any person their society considered odd or an out-cast were branded as a Witch. Anyone who had a cat--or familiar--black or otherwise and was branded as a witch were hung, sometimes the cats were executed along with their masters. In America black cats are considered unlucky due to the fact that they were labed as Witches familiars back in those strange times. Did you know that all the hysteria was caused by moldy rye bread that was kept in storage cellars--and a handful of mischivious girls. I personally like black cats they are beautiful, I owned one a couple of years ago named Midnight.

Black cats are just another cat. I have one and my previous cat was also a black long hair Turkish angora. The one I have presently is a simple run of the mill short hair black cat. There is nothing special about his color he's your typical cat quirks and all. My only problem is seeing him at night and not tripping over him.
I know many associate them with Halloween and witches and the occult and so on but to me they are just a cat nothing more mystical than that. Cats are mystical beings not matter what their color or breed. They have personality and behaviors that only a cat can be.
I did not got out searching for my black cats they came to me both of them. The long hair was a rescue from a friend who already had too many cats and needed to find a great home for a little girl in dire need she had found and I was it and the one I have right now moved in with us from the neighbor's who abused him and decided we would be a much better home that was 3 years ago.

I love black cats!! I have 3 of them. Their names are Pagan, PM, and Chloe. I don't particularly associate them with anything, I think that the black cat superstitions are a bunch of crap! Although I have never been a very lucky person and I have owned a black cat for 8 years. Hmmmm.....

I have a black cat, she is adorable. A little spoiled and can be a brat, but definitely not evil (well most of the time anyway--kidding). She loves laps and to be pet and purrs all the time. I'm actually trying to come up with something to scare the kids on Halloween with my cat since she is black and people do tend to associate black cats with being evil, but shes so sweet and scared of people herself that I don't think its gonna work.

I think black cats are quite lovely. I associate them with black panthers because they sort of look like smaller versions. I like black cats very much and I would describe them as cute, sly, and a bit mysterious. I don't own one, but I'd like to.

I have a black cat. Some people associate them with evil and witches but I like them. I have 1 black cat, 3 black and white cats, and one that's like grey, white and tan. And the black cat acts just like the rest of them except she likes to hang out down in my basement during the day away from my dogs, and it's also nice and cool down there and she likes it. But they're just like regular cats.

Black cats are like any other cat. I think that the superstitions are unfounded. They can be quite beautiful. My b&w male is part Bombay. His coat is shiney and slick. His black is very black.
You do have to be careful if you're selling a black kitty litter or even an adult black cat around Halloween. Some people obtain them for sinister reasons around Halloween.

A cat is a cat - no matter the color! I'm completely confused by your question! I've had three black cats in my lifetime and I've loved them all; they were the most friendly, most loving...your cat, or whatever animal you own, will reflect your care. If you treat them bad based on superstitions or neglect and abuse, then they will not respond well to you. If you love them and treat them in kind, they will do the same with you.

I have a black cat. Her name is Jade.
She is cool, calm, and self-posessed, but affectionate. Her fur is smooth and sleek. She reminds me of a neat, tidy, thrifty French housewife, if you know what I mean.
She loves to lay all curled up in the bathroom sink. Frequently, I go in the kitchen and find her sitting, tail curled tidily around her feet, in the sink. Just sitting. We call her "The Kitty In The Sink."
She also loves to lay on my black silk skirt, and other black things. She is then VERY hard to see. We also call her "The Invisible Kitty." :-))
I love her.
She is best friends with my tabby, Peter Johnson. They always lay around, wrapped in each others arms :-))
People who associate black cats with witchcraft or evil are simply ignorant.
Um, I'm an American, by the way...

I had two beautiful black cats once - one of them disappeared right before Halloween a few years ago and we never saw him again. He looked like a miniature panther, he was lovely. His name was Biggie, and we had another, fluffier black cat named Puffy. We had to give Puffy away when we moved. I have always felt that black cats were good luck.
