I voted in the '04 elections, but do I have to register again to vote in the current elections, or am I already registered? Do I return to the same voting location I went to last time, or... ?

Did you move addresses or change your name since you last registered in 2004? Those are the key questions. If you answered "no" to both, then you are still registered to vote at your current address, and you should have no problems.

However, if you have changed addresses or changed your name since you last registered, you will need to complete a new voter registration form for your state and mail it in.

To find voter registration forms, you can either visit your local U.S. Post Office or most public libraries. Or, you can visit http://www.declareyourself.com and click on "register to vote," where you can download and complete a voter registration form for your state. Don't forget to print it out, sign it, and mail it to the address indicated on the form for your state.

And don't forget to VOTE on November 7, 2006 -- and remind all your friends and family.

Check with the Board of Elections to be certain. In Ohio, your registration remains in effect for 7 years after the last time you vote or until you inform the Board of Elections that you have moved from the area. The only exception I am aware of is if you die.

The BOE FAQ page was down when I answered, so I had to go by memory.
