It can if the person doing for you doesn't do it correctly. Have a professional do it for you and ask how to properly care for your hair.

If you perm your hair yourself, it will get messed up. Have someone you trust perm your hair and also make sure you both read the directions and follow them exactly. But, I would definitely recommend going to a professional.

Only if you did not follow the instructions exactly. If you used the wrong strength for your hair type. if you don't add moisture to your hair every other day, if your hair was already damage and you applied the perm to it. If you don't wrap up your hair at night.
all of those things will cause severe damage to your permed hair.

Not usually...as long as its timed properly...if left in for too long you can get your hair singed because of the chemicals. Get a trim after the perm too, it keep your hair healthy...

it will make your hair drier, because of chemicals. but if you use the right products on your hair it will be just fine
