I hate to say this, but I don't think you're going to find a puppy anywhere for $29. Even if you were lucky enough to have someone give you a pup for free, it's going to cost money to take him or to the vet for three rounds of vaccines, a rabies vaccine and license , not to mention worming and flea and heart worm control.

I kind of get the feeling that you've been saving your allowance for a puppy, but you need to remember that it's gong to cost you way more than $29 after you have one. Food alone can cost that much.

Even most rescue/shelter dogs will cost more than $29. You could check the ads in the newspapers and see if anyone os giving puppies away. Also go to the local Walmart and look in the parking lot for someone giving away pups. They do that here all the time. But remember that dogs cost a lot of money to raise, dog food, puppy shots, heartworm preventative, worming, flea and tick meds. If you cannot afford a dog right now, get one when you can.

at the toy store.
To get a puppy you may have to put out some money. There should be a rescue shelter somewhere close to your home. Most adoption fees are $60. Google animal shelter and your zip code. You can finds all kinds of breeds on there.

Just like the other posters said, go to an animal shelter. It is a life long commitment to have a dog, and can be very costly with vaccines, and sick visits to the vet. Whether you buy a $2000 dog, or rescue one for $29 it still can become a financial burden, and that is your responsibility. With that said, a great website for shelter and rescue pets to visit is www.petfinder.org. Also, to learn about specific breeds go to www.dogbreedinfo.com.

Costs vary from state to state, but where I live you can get a dog at the animal shelter for $25.00. Also check the listings in the newspaper, usually lots of dogs free to good homes.
