im getting ready to play in college, and i know that now you feel like you're at a disadvantage because you are working at the basics and losing because of it- but in the long run you'll thank your coach for making you run plays- it will make u a stronger player and a stronger team as you get older. once you get to high school or college, if you can run some amazing one handed defense or something great, but if you dont have the basics down you dont have anything. so thank your coach for pushing you to play better and just try to learn now so when you get to high school you're ready because then EVERY1 will be doing bump set spike and everything else under the sun

You should focuse on serving. Because if your team stinks at setting, bumping, and spiking a good server can really come in handy. Plus its the easiest way to score points. Also don't worry even if you suck this year by 8th grade everyone will know what their doing.(believe me last year when I was in 7th grade our team sucked this year we all know how to play good and we are undefeated!)

That happened to me last year. I did not make my Jv team, but the next year i made Varsity. no offense but maybe you were a little cocky. or maybe the coaches are just biest maybe the other girls parents contribute to the school. Whatever it is, don't let it get you down keep trying. Also go to the school vball camps get face time with the coaches, and play club, that ALWAYS helps in High School. Good luck.

my gradeschool team used to be just like that... go to your coach and ask if your team could do extra practice on the bump, set, spike technique...it will get you prepared for high school... just dominate the other schools who just use one hit to pass it over

hustle for the ball, dive if it gets down low and just try to spike the ball if its about to go over your side but be careful not to touch the net. And don't forget to tip.

try drills that focus on bumping and setting to each other instead of getting it over the net
