Homeless dogs need friends too. Wouldn't you rather live on the streets with friends then be put to sleep?

To make fun of the homeless shows you have no respect for fellow human beings. We all talk about the stray dogs and such but we as a society look down on outcasts and the
less fortunate as they were dogs or subhuman. Could you survive in a mostly cruel society where you are not wanted and don`t even want to be seen ? There is a thin line between having it all and losing it all. I`ve talked with street people that have more intelligence and common decency about them than you can imagine . Granted, some choose to live as they do but what about the people that are in dire straits because of circumstances beyond their control ? Dogs give the homeless an unconditional love and can`t judge them by the way they live or look. Most people avoid our down trodden like the plague and never make eye contact because they are ashamed that they don`t help them, then sit back and make fun of them . I`ve been blessed to have met people that were genuinely thankful for a meal and some clothing . Every year we pass out blankets and food to these good people near downtown Houston . Walk a mile in their worn out shoes and you`ll never be the same.

Many people love the idea of owning a dog but one thing that they have to keep in mind often times, is that the dog needs to be trained. While the pet may look heart-breakingly cute when it's in a shelter or at the pound, picking out the dog is only the first part of the relationship between dog owner and the animal. Many people don't understand that they have to put time and effort into socializing the dog.
An unsocialized dog will intimidate others, tear up the home, and will create an environment that can become so bad that the it will have to be returned. Many times when dogs have to be returned to shelters or to other resources, it will end up euthanized, which is very heartbreaking. All of this can be spared if a person learns the various techniques in order to socialize the dog.
One thing that they have to understand is that the he wants to be told what to do. It's in the canine nature to follow a leader. The dog will be more than willing to obey the leadership of its master. Here's a look at some common techniques that are used in dog training:
"Dog Whispering"
This is a technique that has been around for a while, but gained national notoriety over the last 10 years. Some people might hear this term and wonder how in the world whispering to a dog can train it! Whispering isn't meant to be taken literally in this case. As trainers have shown, whispering is a term that refers to connecting with a being or an entity on a very deep and almost spiritual level. When it comes to dog training techniques, dog whispering involves careful observation of the dog's behavior and actions.
It literally entails getting inside the mind and the behavior system of the canine. When a person uses dog whispering techniques, they interact with the dog on the canine level. Again, one the most common mistakes that people make is treating the dog like a small human being.
"Reward Training"
Reward training is very simple and it's one of the older tricks that works. This is a simple method of training the dog by positive reinforcement. Once he does what it is told to do, it receives a treat. How this works is that the dog owner must entice the dog towards the treat. Once the canine develops awareness for the treat, it develops a strong desire for it. When the desire for it is extremely strong, the dog owner pulls back. Then the dog receives a command and when the dog obeys the command, it receives the treat. The object is to make the dog associate a treat with the command.
"Clicker Training"
Other dog training techniques include one that is similar to reward training, which is called clicker training. How this works is that the clicker is incorporated to get the dog's attention. The clicker is clicked as a form of communication with the dog. It learns that there is a command or reward associated in conjunction with the clicker. Many people claim that this is fun, and they actually make a game with the dog by using the clicker for their dog training tasks.
"Ultrasonic Whistle"
Last, a relatively new form of dog training technique is called the ultrasonic whistle. This works because the ultrasonic sound is only heard by the dog. When the owner is trying to communicate a command, or stop the dog from barking, they will blow on their whistle when they want to communicate a command to the dog. The benefit of this is that the humans can't hear this noise, but the dog can hear it, and they will learn to associate the sound with a command.
Dog training techniques aren't hard to incorporate, but they are something that absolutely must be incorporated from the time a dog owner brings their new dog home. No matter how old or how young the dog is, they will need training. Once they are trained properly, they will be a wonderful addition to one's family.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tinyurl.im/1NDgp
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

It could be one of a few reasons, for the company, in which case they should be ashamed of themselves as if they cant look after themselves then they should not have a pet.
It may be that the dog was homeless too and they have teamed up which is very kind of the homeless person to share their meagre supplies with their pet.
Mostly however, i believe it is for sympathy. How many people give to beggars just because they have a dog....come on, admit it.

Just because a man is homeless does not mean that he does not crave the companionship and loyalty that a dog offers. He may not be able to provide for the dog properly, but man or beast does not truly want to walk alone on this earth.
I don't give monetary handouts to the homeless, but I will offer to go buy them something to eat and I always keep canned dog food in my car to offer their dogs.

Cause its the last thing you will give up, or they dogs are strays themselves and they find companionship from each other, i woluld much rather see a dog with a homeless person then with some rich idiot who only has it to look good but spends no time with it what so ever.

Tell ya what,,,,,,, I have done a lot of volunteer work with the homeless,,, and their dogs are among the best cared for dogs on the planet. So don't for a second think those dogs need much sympathy.
The homeless man might go hungry, but rest assured his dog won't.

Well this is the cynical view. Homeless people have dogs because people are more likely to stop and feel sorry for a dog and are therefore more likely to give them money if they have a dog.

homeless people have dogs so they can get good bits of free meat from the butcher as the butcher will pity the dog more than the homeless person, and when the butcher gives the good serving of meat for the dog he usualy gives enough for a few days feed, this meat is then shared with the dog and the homeless person then moves onto another butcher the next day for another free supply of off cuts thus keeping himself and his dog well fed. homeless people usually have a rota well prepared and a dog also keeps them warm at night.
