Good answers. I think God doesn't hold it as a sin over someones head, but I think His purpose is one man and one worman. It isn't a sin against God but maby against His perfect plan for us.

If a man has more than one wife he is not following the teachings of Christ.

Genesis 3:22, 23 & 24 say: "And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

It does not say that he shall cleave to his wives... If that were the case, God would have made Adam and Eve and Helen and Marge.

Yes, Abraham had taken a second wife, and God siad that he should send the second wife away.

God Gave Adam only one wife as an example of how it is supposed to be.

When the animals entered Noah's ark, they entered as a male-female pair. The eight humans on the ark were noah, hhis three sons and their wives. Each man had one wife.

Consider the life of Jacob with four wives. There was some contention among the women, especially between the sisters.

Think about it, handling one woman is quite a challenge, and then imagine all of the trouble that more wives would be. If you have ever tried to juggle more than one woman at a time, you will know that it isn't easy.

Life in Christ is supposed to be enjoyable and peaceful, and it is when you have the perfect mate as I do; I can't imagine replacing her or bringing in another woman to spoil the relationship.

Although Scripture clearly condemns polyandry (a woman having more than one husband, Romans 7:2-3), it does not condemn polygyny (a man having more than one wife). Not only is polygyny not forbidden, but God actually gave laws concerning its practice. For example, in Deuteronomy 21 the Lord gave Moses a law regarding a man who had two wives. The only thing a man couldn't do was marry a woman and her mother.

The church outlawed it, they seem to make it up as they go along, and ignore what the Prophets said. NO Prophet ever outlawed polygamy
