mp3 players allow you to record off of the radio (and they have the radio tuner lol ) for the ipods you have to pay for a separate radio tuner which can be expensive.
mp3 players are much cheaper than ipods. when i bought mine (about 3 years ago,) 256 mb was 200 dollars, and now you can get one for 1 gb for about 100 dollars. id say they are the better deal...ipods are too overrated, everyone has one, and its the same as the mp3 player. apple just markets it differently.
im not sure about the exact price in india, but id say that mp3 players would be cheaper/

mp3 gives you much more for your money
wehn you buy an ipod you just pay for the name and design, mp3's are better in every other catagory.
get this: i just bought a 1gig (250 songs) MP3 wiith a color screen, radio tuner, voice recorder, and photo viewer for 55.00 NEW! thats the price of an ipod nano that has no screen

I actually have a Dell DJ and that i like it lots, i've got in no way had an iPod so i'm unable to truly evaluate them. i might say stay removed from the Sansa ScanDisk that some human beings counseled formerly ... they have an inclination to freeze up and only stop working.

mp3 players have radios on them that you can record from... well some/most of them. that's a very big advantage. but i dunno the cost.
