Think NO shampoo. Before you go EWWW, hear me out. Wet your hair in the shower and allow it to flow straight while wet; do NOT pile it on your scalp. Generously apply conditioner from scalp to the ends and smooth the conditioner through; do NOT agitate your hair, that makes it poofier. Massage the scalp gently and finger comb the conditioner though the hair to dangle.
Rinse and finger comb. Follow with a cold water rinse, this smooths the cuticle of the hair.
When you dry, blot the hair dry rather than scrubbing it with a towel, the scrubbing makes the hair more frizzy.
This method works miracles!
Every week or so use a super gentle shampoo on the SCALP ONLY with conditioner on the shaft and the ends.

I have the same kind of hair and I love the following products:

All Soft shampoo & conditioner by Redken
Smooth Down shampoo & conditioner by Redken
Frizz Ease by John Frieda

Ceramic straight iron. This is the single best tool for smoothing down crazy hair. But you need to supplement this with the above products, which are meant to help it (and protect your hair from all the heat).

Use a ceramic flat iron, some Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum, and only was your hair about twice a week. It will look its best on day 2 and 3.

Use either Redken Smooth Down (the best) or Citre Shine polishing serum (good but don't use too much cause your hair will look greasy). Frizz Ease (sp?) is pretty good too.

ps - I agree with nostalgia above me about the heat

get a CHI iron, they are gold plated, (thats why they are expensive $100) but they will never burn your hair & I swear they are the best flat irons & also biosilk. its a silicone based serum that instantly takes the frizzies out. about $12 for a smaller bottle (same people that make the iron) you can find that @ sally's or any beauty supply....maybe even kroger, I know they have the shampoo & cond. line of that brand but I've never used it.

Get a anti-friz shampoo, (there are alot of those out there) and then get you a good straightening iron and if you're hair is already straight then use those two things and you should be fine!

try remington hair-envy hair dryer. It prevents your hair going frizzy as the nozzle is small and points downwards. it really works wonders. Also use a good serum.

try a hair shine serum and use a straightner. They help with the frizz on straight hair
