Your withdrawal pains can last up to a month for it does take time to get certain medication out of your system. Also if your medication is causing you problems. Then staying off of them can save your life. So fight it with all your strength and take the good along with the bad........... But right now you are a winner and please stay a winner................................

I take that med myself - I was tried on some of the newer antidepressants, but they did not work. The brand name is Elavil (for amitriptyline), and it helps me to eat, sleep, and go about my everyday chores and routine. It does keep extra pounds on me, though - but I understand that many antidepressants do so as well. Some people even take amitriptyline for pain.
Your doctor should have replaced this med with another - or taken you off of it slowly. Give him/her a call, or if you can't wait go to the ER.
Good luck :)

You need to call your doctor and let him know what is going on - hopefully he recommend something more effective than anything anyone here can tell you.
In the meantime, I would say to take vitamins and try to excersise moderately. Excedrin works amazingly well - but has caffiene, so maybe just Tylenol would work best. Also, STAY POSITIVE - you can do! Make sure to surround yourself with positive things and don't let yourself get too down.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Get off the anti-depressants. Sweat it out of your system. Drink water. De-tox it out by eating natural foods and doing a cleanse.
Take care of your body. We are not meant to be drugged up. Too many medicated people in this world. Learn to deal with stress and anxiety without drugs.

Your doctor should have weened you off of that amitriptyline (i use to take it) or given you something else....that's why some doctors just don't get it or just don't care......i would call him and ask him if there is something else he can give you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
