Your not going to believe this but I just got done writing down all these ways of getting rust off of things, from a couple of questions ago.... Get you a clean rag, put some soda, on it, and wipe away!! I kid you not!! This one girl was talking about how you can use soda for getting battery acid, off of your car battery, off of your bumpers, or tire rims, how to pour a can in your dark-greasy work clothes.. right in the washing machine, and it works wonderfully, according to this girl...and I believe it, soda has an acid in it, that'll eat through just about anything...So, thanx, for reminding me,I'm going to try it on my rusty loaf pan! Ha! How cool, thanx, for reminding me! And good-luck,to you! Smile!

You don't need abrasive or dangerous products to clean up those rusty pots and pans. Just get out a potato!
Steps

1. Get one medium-sized potato.
2. Cut the potato lengthwise for maximum coverage of the rusted area.
3. Dip the exposed portion of the potato into a mild abrasive such as baking soda, toothpaste or salt.
4. Lightly wet the rusted area.
5. Firmly rub the potato over the rusted area until the rust is removed.
6. Rinse.
7. Repeat steps if necessary.

Tips & Warnings

* For hard to reach places such as around a handle, cut the potato into long strips.
* Do not use scouring powder - it is too abrasive.
* Do not use gel toothpaste.
* Throw away the potato when you're done

1.Pour or rub white vinegar or lemon juice onto the stain.
2.Let the liquid stand until the spot or spots disappear.
3.Rinse area with fresh water.
4.Repeat steps if necessary.

Or try-
Baking Soda

If all else fails- (I know this is used to get rid of rust on tools but you may not want to use this on your baking pans)
Kerosene.....soak your pans in it (outside the house), then wash the pans like a million times to get the kero off. I would a stick with my first two suggestions though.

Good luck!

Just tried to get my flat baking pans out from under kitchen sink. To my horror, all were filled with rusty water! I'll try all of the above. I paid ALOT of money for these pans! Just my jelly roll Air Bake sheet pans were very expensive. I won't do the brillo pad thing, but will try lemon, vinegar, poltato.

Use a brillo pad, and a LOT of elbow-grease (hard work). If the pans are quite thin and very rusty, the metal that's left might be quite brittle and thin, so it may be time to buy a new baking pan.

I think if your pans have rust it is probably time to go out and purchase some new ones. You could try Magic Eraser to get it out but I probably would not waste my time and just purchase new ones!

Hmm went camping YARR!
Take some aluminum foil and oil and scrub the pan. then wash it thoroughly, then heat the pan over open flame as on a grill then wash again. Then store it properly.
you can use a brillo pad or other non-soap pad to clean it instead of foil...

I do not know but maybe you could try using baking soda mixed with vinegar? I have alot of those and usually just toss them out and get new ones. If you get an answer let me know.

WD 40 and then clean with dish liquid (degreaser)
Coke also removes rust. Leave it in there a while.

wash them real good with Brillo pad

dry them off in the oven

spray them with Pam or rub them with lard

put them back in the oven and bake them at 450 till they stop smoking

after they cool lightly oil them

your pans will have a nice coating on them similar to an iron skillet
