I met a guy over a year ago and we became friends. About a month ago we hooked up (totally sober) and have been talking every day since. The problem is he works 7 days a week and says there has been no way in the past month that he could get off work to go out on a date even though he says this is what he wants? Does he really want a relationship right now and is truly bound with work or is he using work as an excuse?

the talking is a positive sign. does his job require or needs the all day work? also, does it make sense? like, is a mailman that works 7 days or is he doing something that makes sense.

The work is probably a cover for something. I don't mean bad, but guys often hide themselves when they start to really like someone. Good for you both for being able to talk about it. That will help a lot. Keep at it and be patient. They say you "grow" into a relationship for a reason. These are probably just growing pains for you both. I can all but assure you he is thinking about you and works so much to keep his mind off of you, not b/c he doesn't like you but b/c he likes you so much it's a little scary to him.

Ask yourself this: Would you be willing to put up with a man who will not be there for you on weekends, special nights even because at the way his life is right now, there's no time for you? Even if he does want a relationship, time is an important gift that he needs to be able to give to you.

ooooooh this is all a bit close to home! I using that one at the moment! "Oh sorry Its so busy at work" I am being brutal honest,It is busy at work but If i really really really wanted her i would find someway even if it was say 11:30pm! If he wants a relationship he will tell you! In my shoes and sounds like he has the same pair same size hes looking for fun/friendship/casual sex/lovers/sex buddies...... not relationship. remember a date is not a relationship...its a date! men scare easy!
