If there is one thing in this world I am having a hard time NOT HATING it is child molestation. I have no tolerance for it, and to think a CHURCH has been getting away with it for decades and centuries makes me sick to my stomach. However, I have NEVER in my life ( even as a young child ) agreed with anything my catholic friends had to do. It all seems controversial to what God's words really say, ie babies that aren't baptized don't go to heaven but rather limbo. Yeah ~ I'm so sure God sends INNOCENT babies to limbo, Catholics ~ is there any other religion that got things more wrong? Well I don't know, but I DO know I trust my gut. And I would NEVER let my son alone in the room with a catholic priest.
So yes, we can only pray for the victims to find peace through faith in God, faith that God has their "reward" for their evil waiting! "Vengeance is mine saith the Lord."

About half of one percent of all Catholic priests have been accused or convicted of some sort of a sex offense.

While there is no excuse for such behavior, this is still far below the typical "norms" for society in general.

Most of the problems can be traced to an influx of homosexual men into the priesthood due to lax standards and liberalism of the 1970's and 80's.

Some bishops also handled the problem poorly, just making things worse.

There are now a number of safeguards in place, and most of the problems should be in the past.

Time will tell.

I am not a Catholic. I don't think child molestation is endemic to the Catholic Church. I do think the way they handled the pedophile priests was absolutely reprehensible. It was not until the public became outraged that they even began to face the issue. Frankly I think the way they handled it was criminal.

<> it is not, particularly. it is only that the media-hype makes it look worse than this is. <> it is not, definitely. the share of clergymen customary to have molested a newborn is extra or less 6%. this is comparable with the style of non-Catholic Christian ministers who've molested babies; resembling the share of college instructors to have had illicit sexual kin with scholars; and it is likewise resembling the share of human beings in secular society that have commited newborn molestation. <> No, this is ridiculous! Pedophilia is a disordered sexual inclination - in spite of the fact that it is not brought about by making use of the prepare of abstinence. Any respected mag of drugs will tutor that abstaining from intercourse does not reason pedophilia.

The big problem in catholic is that they deprive the priest of sex. And without sex, if you are capable of it, then you will surely grow pervert. A religion which deprive you of sex is not natural, not humane.

Its a epidemic to priest, priest are not allowed to have sex or masturbate for their entire life.....It is unnatural for a human to do this, so they basically go crazy and go against the most defenseless people around them...little boys...thinking they wont get caught by scaring the child with going to hell and telling them god will not love them if they tell....its sick......

sounds like it has less to do with Catholicism, and more to so with the whole "religious right" in general
