I have to fit into a Halloween costume and it's too small, so I was wondering approximately how much weight I'd have to try and lose in order to fit into it decently. The costume is 12-14 but I'm 17/18. It's a big jump, but I'd still like to know. Thanks!

I would be inclined to believe that it really varies according to body composition and muscle mass. A flabby size 12-14 could wiegh 140, while a 12-14 with more muscle could wiegh 170 or more. Height is also a factor.

It all depends on height. A short person size 12 weighs less than a tall person size 12.

Also, foreign made clothes are cut different than American made. A costume is prob foreign made and is sized smaller.

Don't worry about numbers. Pick what fits. If you are picky you can have it altered (or pinned).

After having lost more than 130 lbs over 10 years ago, for me based on my body mass and height and weight, that appx every 10 lbs I lost equaled a size lost so I would think you need to lose about 20 lbs appx.

It all depends on your body type and height. You could have more muscles, and this could affect your weight. Also, the taller you are, the more you would weight to get into that size. I think more info is needed to answer this question properly.
