RichZ, I'm not writing about the Mormon god, I'm writing about the Bible God.

After reading the bible, it seems that God doesn't condemn it as a sin anywhere. Even though there is conscequences that aren't so good.

Quick answer - no. The reason most people believe that more than one spouse is unchristian is based on a few New Testiment scriptures that state that a person IN A LEADERSHIP ROLE should ( I repeat - should ) have but one spose. These verses ONLY refer to those in leadership roles! These verses also leave it as a strong suggestion and not as an absolute command. The fact that this is considered good in God's eyes for leaders is what has caused the church to adopt the one spose rule for all Christians. God didn't forbid it , but He does strongly advise against it. Here's the biblical reasoning He gives: A married persons loyalties are always, to some degree, divided between pleaseing his spose and doing what pleases God. More sposes means more division of loyalty , makeing it harder to do those things that please God. Another reason multiple sposes are strongly discouraged is that your sposes are bound to influence your personal beliefs , possably even leading a weak minded person away from the true God. In response to the charge that this would be adultry remember marrage is NOT adultry.Your talking about sposes not live in lovers. Bottom line is that while haveing more than one spose isn't technically a sin it is never-the-less strongly discouraged by God Himself.

Check with the Mormons. They have sects that claim to be in touch with both God and multiple wives. If one comes to your door offering religious advice bring up that question. I think many people do ask and they have an answer already for it.

The bible does not condemn plural marriage. In fact, many biblical prophets, like Abraham and Jacob, had more than one wife.

A Christian marriage is supposed to represent the union between Christ and the Church, so yeah, I think it would be a sin.

I don't see why God would care, as long as it wasn't forced or whatever.
