There are two things to do: if you still have feelings for him, don't say anything, just try to act natural and he will understand quickly that something is different; if living with him became a nightmare, just tell him directly... Good luck!

I was just in the same situation with my ex this week I called him up and told him I wasnt feeling a connection with him anymore I told him that now I just feel as if we are friends and its starting to get akward between us I was nice about it and we decided to go our seperate ways. I know that he still really likes me buit we are just friends now.

tell them but be nice about it and explain whats in your heart the reason you are not into that person anymore, it will hurt but a one way relationship is awful.
