i'm rebuilding my 440. is it worth the extra money to go for the advantages of a stroker kit? it'd be a 496. rotating assembly is getting reworked anyway. should i go for it? i want to, and there don't seem to be any drawbacks.

Since i stay as far away from the Harley dealer as I can, I don't really know much about the Screamin eagle stuff. I do know that S&S makes top of the line stroker kits. been riding and building 40 years and I swear by S&S.

If the rotating assembly is getting reworked your are paying for
something you won't need if you are going to get a stroker kit.
The stroker kit is the rotating assembly... i.e. crankshaft, rods
pistons.. The Pistons should be match weighted and the Rods
Balanced and the Crank Balanced and the Rotating assembly
to include your Balancer and Flywheel should be balanced...oh I almost forgot....your wallet needs to be fat...

Sounds good if the drivetrain can handle it. That's a lot of torque. I dont know what rear end you have but you may consider a 9.25 axle, if you don't already have one, and if it is going in a truck a Dana 60 front with a 205 transfer-case, and sure your trans is healthy. A Dana 60 rear would be best but expensive. Good luck it will be one awesome engine. (If it is going into a car that thing is going to haul @$$).
