Here are two recipes, One is for the fried onions on top and the other is actually a fried green bean...kinda crunchy...
2 pkgs. French-cut green beans
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can French fried onion rings
Cook beans according to package direction. Drain. Place half the beans in 1 1/2 quart casserole. Spread half the soup over beans. Arrange layer of half the onions. Add remaining beans, soup and onions. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Yield 6 to 8 servings.
FRIED
In skillet add about 1 tablespoon grease and 1 tablespoon shortening. Add about 3 cups beans, no juice. Sprinkle with one or two tablespoons flour, salt and pepper. Fry on medium heat until browned and crispy.

Old family recipe of Native Indian origin:
1 bag of frozen green beans, or three cans of green beans or use fresh green beans
1 lb. of bacon(fried)
1 can of diced tomatoes
I'm estimating 2 cups of ketchup cause I don't measure
Mix all together in a casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 - 45 min
ps. save out some bacon to put on top
