using a lotion on your skin that you were allergic to? my hands are cracked and peeling

1% hydrocortisone cream twice a day. over the counter, cheap generic brands are just as good as brand name. if that doesnt work may need to see a doctor for a stronger steroid cream. dont wash them in hot water either, may feel better but worsens the problem

cracking and peeling sounds more like dry skin....

allergic reactions will usually cause redness,itching, and sometimes hives...

you can use bendadryl cream of hydrocortisone cream on your hands to see if that helps.

Johnson's brand lotion makes an awesome lotion for dry skin (i'm a nurse and my hands are constantly dry). it's called softcream extra care healing hand cream-it has a small amount of baby oil in to help soften the skin and it lasts through several handwashings-i love it.

use only warm water when washing your hands and avoid soaps with dyes or perfumes as these will irritate more. the hot water will dry the skin out more.

Try Eucerin. It is recommended by dermatologists. You can find it at most drugstores.
