Have a shot of bourbon-whiskey, honey, and lemon, morning & evening, and gargle with salt water 4-6 times per day, drink warm tea, and a lot of water, but what ever you do, don't bother the police in order to look for your voice;) LOL

Sandersons throat specific from the chemist for hoarseness and loss of voice...you can also get sandersons pastels. The liquid is best, it tastes foul but works...i use it when i have a singing audition and have lost my voice. Good Luck x

losing your voice is usually caused by inflammation of the vocal chords as a result of a virus, bacterial infection or straining your voice too much. (laryngitis) It should get better on its own, rest your voice as much as possible. If things don't get better see your GP, you may need antibiotics.

Don't try to talk for at least 24 hours. Drink tons of fluids. Warm teas work well

there isnt a huge lot you can do. resting your voice is probably the best thing.

avoid fizzy drinks and anything extremely hot or cold (tea and coffee are fine just not when scalding hot!)

drink lots of water - it flushes out all the nasty stuff in your throat!

Look for it?

Seriously, a friend of ours had little or no voice for nearly four years. It turned out it was an infection from her teeth!

If you lost your voice though go to the doctor, get it checked out!

tea with lemon and honey helps. Don't yell or whisper or sing those are the most straining things you can do to your vocal cords. Maybe you should go to the doctor and have him prescribe you an antibiotic.
