Labrador is a place in Canada.
Labrador Retrievers are dogs.
Here's something some people don't know: Labrador Retrievers come in three varieties, yellow, black and chocolate. Any litter of Lab puppies might have babies with all three colors - regardless of the color of the parents. Some folks believe that they're three distinct breeds, but that isn't true, they're the same breed.

Lab, Labrador, Labrador Retriever are all one and the same. Labs come in 3 colors..Black, Chocolate and Yellow. Check out the AKC site for a description and standard for the Lab www.akc.org

No... they are the same breed of VERY VERY GOOD dog.. It isjust that some people call them labradors and others refer to them as labrador retrievers.. SAME fine breed.. (by the way.. MY FAVORITE)

No, there the same, labrador is just shorter than same labrador retriever. Unless of course its a labrador mix.

Same dogs. There are different Retrievers though, which are different breeds. Like Golden Retrievers, Flat Coated Retrievers, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Curly Coated Retrievers, and so on. Those are different.
