I am very smart, responsible person so I just can't understand why I am only attracted to "bad guys". I always feel that I can help them change or fix them in some way and then I end up getting hurt when it doesn't happen. I am not attracted at all to nice men. I find them boring. I always go for younger guys with drug and alcohol problems and criminal records. Does anyone else have this problem?

You have answered your own question.

You cannot change a person if they are unwilling to change.

its called a "savior complex" Hun and i am being totally serious because i had it when i was dating my ex who had drug problems and stuff...you feel as if no matter how bad things are with the guy you are dating you can help them...its bad for business...it turned me into a person that was 225 and eating all the time from depression and all the money i used to dish out just to bail him out and take care of things...dating a "bad boy" can be a good thing as long as they are tough, take care of you, and have NO criminal record... a guy can be a "bad boy" without all the red tape that goes with it.

Do you have any idea how much this frustrates "nice guys"? How often do I hear girls say they like "nice guys" but who do they date? Bad guys. Jeans saggin, unshaved, maybe even unwashed, guys who couldn't even imagine being polite or treating a girl nice. I don't get it at all. If I could act the part of a bad azz dude I would, but I can't. I don't get it either, not for an instant.

Thats pretty sad. You should respect yourself more and forget those idiots. If you keep it up you can really help people when you get sent to prison. Believe me drug dealers and guys with criminal pasts dont give a s*** about you.

Talk to a therapist. You have issues of your own that you need to deal with. Part of it might be self esteem. You may feel that your not worthy of anything other than this type of relationship. Good luck dear.

Sounds like you need to talk to a therapist. It may be an underlying issue as to why you want criminals or just people who hurt you in general.

You need to raise your morals;you can have an I.Q. of 210 but if you have low self-esteem you may need someone who you can feel superior to;those type of people fill the bill.
