I heard this from one of my teachers... is it true?

Only if left untreated for a long period of time, the ear can abscess and the abscess can rupture through the inner table of the skull into the brain.

I had a cousin in my native country, who had a chronic ear infection. His family didn't have money to go to the doctor, which is why he had it for a few years (5 years). He didn't die from it (but the smell was overpowering). Either he was just extremely lucky, or what your teacher is saying is a myth.... unless the infection spreads somewhere else maybe.

Any infection can kill you. But an ear infection isn't very likely to. It can do lots of other bad things though.

i didn't ever hear that but i know it can make you go deaf
