I like mine with just garlic butter, and bit of garlic salt.

I've heard this makes me a heathen because it's not traditional.

You can put just about anything you want on top of pierogi! White sauces are traditional, I believe a bechamel or veloute would be excellant.
I eat mine dipped in sour cream (we bake them till they're crispy :D ), or with applesauce. I imagine you could use salsa as a topping to add some spice to an otherwise bland dish.

This is not very traditional my Polish neighbor tells me, but Delicious- She makes her regular pierogies and uses Ragu cheese sauces (Alfredo or cheddar) and lightly covers each one. They are great for like football or movie treats, too.

I like them sauted in butter and topped with polish sausage, cut in bite size pieces with sauted onions and bell pepper.
(can substitute polish sausage with lil' smokies)

OR
dip in egg, then seasoned breadcrumbs and fried for 2-3 min or until golden brown. Dip in melted cheese or marinara sauce

Just fry them in a pan with butter and onions. They don't need anything more than that! Boil them first though so that they don't take forever frying in the pan! Yummy! :-D
