Happy 6th to your son!
What I would do in your position would be "party sandwiches". Cut a PB&J sandwich into four, pull the crusts off, and stick a toothpick (with a colored decoration on the end of it) into each piece. Kids seem to love anything with a decorative item sticking out of the top.
Hot dogs are a favorite too. (if you can run out to the market and get bottles that are squeezed to let the ketchup/mustard out), have the kids make designs on their plates with the condiments after eating to use them up. It's a winner!
There you go- Simple, fast and easy. Good Luck with the party!!!

If they're 6, they're not usually picky. I say grill hot dogs, but if you don't have a grill, then make fancy sandwhiches. Here are some ideas: tomatoes, turkey, & mustard; ham & grilled cheese; PBJ & bananas, the list goes on. Each kid picks they're favourite.

well if you wanted something not so fattening, i'd say sandwiches... a vegi tray... but if you wanted something kids probably would prefer I would say hot dogs.... They are easy and most kids love them.. or you could order pizza? That's always a winner!

Ask him what he wants. My mom always let us choose our own birthday meal & cake.

If you want to keep him limited in the style he picks give him a few choices.
