never heard of a bread bin. I've heard of a bread box, though. A bread box is indeed a box.

hahahaha ok so in your house you dont have a bread bin you have a basket, a box ...?

Its a bit of left over language I guess a bit like a cupboard, because I suppose none of us put our cups on a board anymore?

well, it is a bin...but most of us in the US call it a box....same thing. FYI, this is from merriam websters dictionary online.
