I can speak for 737 on up but not the others.
One of the reasons for this on airliners is the cargo doors are on the right side of the aircraft (most) so boarding and unboarding from the right side would be impractical since all the cargo loaders and ramp personel are there. Also the people servicing the aircraft (catering and cleaners) can use the right doors without interfering with passenger boarding and unboarding. Last but not least all the doors are emergency exits and depending on how many passengers an airliner can carry it must have enough exits to accommodate a fully loaded aircraft during an evacuation. This means while there are doors there they aren't meant for passengers. Have you noticed most galleys are on the right side as well?

I officially resign answering questions, You chuckleheads.
It is in the design of the aircraft, all airplanes are the same, board on left was a standard the wright Brothers probably devised. Or Howard Hughes. The only thing that happens on the right is maintenance and the peanut dude. It is not used for crew boarding as they walk like the rest of us do. And no they don't board on the right in the UK, Sillies!

That is mostly to make it easier for the airport design. It is easier and cheaper to make walk ways that lead to the same side of all aircraft, and leave the other side for loading an unloading cargo and food ans other things. Because it is easier for the airports, the aircraft are build following this prinsipar. The doors on the other side can also be used, but are mostly used as emergency exit or crew entrance or exit.

I've never boarded from the right side before. I don't know why they always aboard from the left side though.

as a pilot on the boeing 747, the reason is because most aircraft have the galley (food prep area) on the right side of the aircraft. the airlines can't have people getting in the way of things so they try to keep it separated

In the UK, Japan and Australia they board from the other side. They also drive on the other side. You see the landing strips are on the other side of the plane then.. Get it???
