Lemme just explain the situation here. I'm taking a Japanese class through my local community college since my school doesn't offer it, and I'm still a sophmore in high school. I've got a batch of friends in my class, and of course they're all old enough to vote, but that isn't my problem. There's this totally awesome, cute, sweet, and funny guy in my class that I have a monster of a crush on. But he's 21, and I'm, well, 16. We hung out this weekend at the Japan Fest at the college and had a blast. (Y'know, did the "photo in a kimono" thing and ate sushi together and stuff...) He also insisted that he carry my bag around and that I sit down when there was only one chair. He's the best guy you'd ever want to meet. But he's 21, and I'm 16! What should I do?

OK, first off, he might be the greatest guy and all that. I'm a DAD, and remember what it was like when I was his age. 16 might be cute, but he is well over the age and should know better than to be messing around with a 16 year old. He might have some issues, and if I were your parent, and I hope your dad is like me on this, I'd beat him to a pulp. Guys by nature are pigs, its in our DNA we can't help it. He wants a lil fling to see if he can get ya. and but "GET YA" I mean get into your pants. Now then as a dad speaking here, bit of advice. All the things you said about the guy in your question. All women also thought the same thing about Ted Bundy, if you need to know who he is, look him up on here. Now if I were your dad, I'd tell you its not a good idea at all because I love you, and I don't want to have to come and identify you at the morgue, or in the hospital after he a rape. Use common sense here kiddo, he is 21 and you're 16, he only wants one thing. He wants some AZZ. If he can't pull chicks his own age then he has other issues also.

You're 16. If you care about this 21 year old don't let it go past friendship. He could go to jail for being a predator if you don't chill. You'll be 18 soon enough and then you can see if there is a possibility for a relationship. Guys and girls can be "just friends" and not become intimate. If he brings up the subject of crossing the legal line, you need to remember that he is 21 and by law, you are still a child. You be sensible and say no because a mistake will effect the rest of your life.

sounds like hes a nice guy but 5 yrs is a big age difference are you sure he feels the same way? my advice is to take it uber slow and see what happens! remember that he is probably in his second or third year in collage or out working! I'm nearly 18 and would see a 21 year old as being a lot older than me so i can see where you re coming from!

It's a good question, to bad you got some bad answers. Like it would be the same if you dated an 11 year old that person is stupid. It's OK to be friends, but that is all! I am skeptical though, I would not hang out with him unless you were with a group of people. I think he has an ulterior motive!

Okay. Number 1, that's illegal, and if someone reports you, even if you're consent with being with him, he will be arrested, Number 2, that is like a 16 year old dating an 11 year old. What do you think he wants out of a 16 year old? I think it's not good.

y should age matter unless he's lik 20 years older than u then it would...... besides if he's very nice to u and cares for u y not go out with him???? I find it kinda cute actually lol. Do ur parents have anything against it??? if not, go 4 it:) and even if u don't decide to date him u can always be his friend and date him later on in life or whenever ur ready.

hunny at that age you should only be worried about your school work...and if you are taking a japanese class at the age of 16 you are way too smart to be dating a guy that could buy you alcohol and take advantage of you...i am 25 and guys at that age are only out for one thing no matter how nice they are...you need to keep your heart well gaurded and walk on eggshells around him...he is too old for you! you have plenty of time to date guys when you are older or during the summer school is so important at your age.... i hope i have helped some...

there is no reason why a grown man would need to hang out with a 16 yr old girl. If he thinks you're that great, then he can wait until you're 18.
