Not really, people are born the way they are, and are also influenced by how they were raised as far as personality. Like if someone is abusive, they weren't born that way, they learned it from watching the abusive parent, and most likely they won't change. Although some people like myself have learned from our mistakes in life, but chances are you have to completely screw up a relationship first and learn from it before using what you've learned on the next person

Only if they want their nature to change. It is extremely difficult to change anyone, unless they are the one who wants to do it.

Only if they recognize and accept the need to change...and choose to work at it. It isn't easy but it can be done, to a certain extent.
