Horse power on my 351 windsor. Its a stock rebuilt short block with ported heads blah blah and other big stuff done to the motor. my question is 358 hp to much for cast pistons? should I have gone with forged pistons or will these be ok.

It shouldn't have a problem at all. Do you know what your compression ratio is? That is really the determining factor if your worried about your pistons. You should be okay though as your not using a blower or turbo or even nitrous at this point so your pistons are not much in danger. What you should be worried about is if the block was put together correctly so you can achieve what your motor is really capable of. I have seen 351w based blocks that were stroked lightly (377) and they were making over 400rwhp on a dyno, but they had aftermarket heads and a pretty decent cam (+650 lift). You might consider getting some aluminum heads and junk the stock ported ones. Porting is nice, but there is a limit to how much material can be removed and blended to make stock heads flow well (volume and efficiency and to some extent velocity).

Good luck.

They should be just fine...to make that kind of HP you should
have Carburetor, Intake Manifold, Cam, Headers, High flow Exh.
Polished and ported heads simply increase the flow at very high
RPM and do not make a lot of HP on a basically stock motor...

Why ask now? About cast pistons. We'll see if it blows, then we'll know, you were wrong!!
