any anti inflammatory like Advil, Alieve, try AlievePM and it will take away the pain and help you get some sleep. On top of the Advil try sucking on Popsicles or ice cubes and try some oral pain relieving jell that has lidocaine in it usually around 2%. Hope that helps

hi -- I waited till I was 53 to have mine taken out. They still weren't bothering me, but I have one more year to have this done on a dental plan, so that was a big deciding factor. It has been a very uncomfortable episode. I was still having discomfort and had to take pain meds off and on 2 2 1/2 months afterwards. I had to take a week off of work. I still have some nerve damage to my tongue that feels like it is burnt, but that seems to be going away. This is not a decision to be taken lightly, so discuss this with your parents. There can be a lot of side effects. On the other hand, my oral surgeon was horrified by my teeth, and told me they should have been taken out decades ago. The procedure itself was not troublesome, as I was put to sleep. I didn't have any real complications, other than the tongue trouble. I teach school, and many of my students had had their teeth out, with no real problems at all, so it is good to do it when you are younger, as you are, I would think. Be aware that the cost may be much more than you think it will be. Discuss this with your parents. My dental plan covered 85% of the cost, but only to a maximum, and the dentist charged much more than that, so I ended up paying 50% or so of the cost, about $1000, which was much more than I expected. If money is a factor for your family, you have to check this out.

Aspirin first, then Ambasol on both sides of the gum. I've been through this. It works! Good Luck! Get the Ambasol that comes in a long thin tube. It has a twist on the bottom and a brush at the top. It's a little more expensive, but it's worth it. It stops the pain for hours.

Old Remedy: Rub Whiskey on your gums. I used this method when my daughter was teething. Not a lot , just wet your finger and rub the area that is hurting. It numbs the area
