If it is a true allergy, then taking an over-the counter allergy medicine like benadryl or it's generic diphenhydramine should offer some relief. If you are suffering from a chemical burn then this will not help, but only time. An extremely gentle wash that works very well for those with sensitive or allergic skin is Cetaphil! Choose the lotion not the cream. Use this to wash your face. You can even put this on your face without using water.

I would recommend you to go your local department store and go to the Clinique Counter. Explain to them your problem, and get the Exceptionally Soothing Cream for Upset Skin. I've used it before and it really moisturizes and helps get rid of problems very quickly, like visual results in under 24 hrs. But just give it a try. It's pricy ($32.50 for 1.7 oz), but most deff. worth the price!
