have my school accredited by a govenment recognized agency then would that school be a diploma mill? Especially if the school couldn't afford the high cost of being accredited. Or just prefer not to have any dealings with the government than absolutely necessary?

If you can keep the government out of the schools the better the schools. God did not have a prophet that was 'accredited'. Accreditation is a worldly thing.

There have been enough shady dealing with non-accredited religious schools that I'd call it a serious risk to take; whether you're running things correctly or not, it can be a reputation-burner and may come back to haunt your graduates.

Just join the crowd. Preachers and evangelists have the lousiest credentials of any profession on the face of the earth. Their diplomas are little more than plastic coated placemats. Its doesn't make a bit of difference to their followers; these people are inspired and filled with the spirit! No one is going to check on those secular humanistic credentials.
